The 60th Annual Kiwanis FFA Livestock Sale was held Friday night, August 9, at the Wyoming Hereford Ranch.
39 lots (animals and birds) were put up for sale. Final figures indicate that a total of $151,750 went to the FFA members who put animals or birds up for sale. The highest accepted bid was $12,000, paid to Raelyn Northington of the Burns FFA chapter by Tyrrell Chevrolet.
For those of you who signed up with the Kiwanis investment group, our buyer won the bid for the Superlight Lamb offered by Emma Berg of the High Plains-Cheyenne FFA chapter and the Market Goat offered by Colton Bomberger of the Pine Bluffs FFA chapter. Prices paid were $1,800 and $1,200 respectively.
Brenda Birkle chairs our club's Agriculture Committee, which coordinates with Laramie County School District 1 and 2 ag instructors to stage the sale. The Committee also helps sponsor other FFA-related events during the rest of the year.
